My motto as a cartoonist was always “anything for a buck.” I painted holiday windows in shopping centers, consigned to make signs and decorations, and landed a huge mural project for the new Northgate Theaters in San Rafael. Alas, the murals were only temporary; designed to spruce up the panels that shielded the construction from the eyes of mall patrons. When the theater opened, all my hard work was torn down. I also painted some cartoon murals in local restaurants, one of which still survives as of this writing.
